Adaptive riding:

Adaptive riding is a social and recreational service. Our riding sessions are adapted to meet the skill development and ability of the rider.

The template for this session includes grooming, leading, groundwork and riding. After an intake session, we assess the participant and create a program based on their abilities, needs and NDIS goals.

This program aids NDIS participants in meeting their goals through the power of natural horsemanship and riding. Here at Totoka Lodge, we do not have a set program. We recognise each person is an individual and therefore requires an individual program. Most of our sessions include riding, however, there are times when riding may not be possible.

The safety of our clients is our main priority.

Please note that we have a weight limit of 90kg for safety reasons.

Liberty:

Liberty is a way of connecting with a horse without riding. In this program, we show participants how to take care of a horse starting with the very basics. Not only is this program great for creating relationships, it’s also a great way to gain confidence, fitness and create skills for life.
