Our Programs
SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITES
Our Programs - Our programs are designed around the interests of the participant, their goals and abilities. At Totoka Lodge we are dedicated to offering enriching social, community and recreational experiences in a peaceful, outdoor environment. The programs are thoughtfully designed to help participants develop life skills that align with their NDIS goals, while fostering independence, confidence and a sense of connection.
Our Property - We are set on 50 acers in Devon Meadows with a large 60m x 40m undercover arena. Our animal corner is set on half an acre and home to ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, mini horse, Shetland pony and goats. Participants can feed, groom, clean, and learn about caring for animals.
There is plenty of space for nature walks to learn about our natural environment or seasonally relax by the outdoor firepit with a warm and engaging atmosphere for conversation and reflection. The garden area offers our participants hands-on gardening with planting and weeding.
Through these experiences, participants build skills, connect with others, and deepen their bond with nature.
Horse and Animal Nursery Engagement - Participants can interact with our friendly horses and farm animals, and where appropriate, enjoy supervised horse riding. These experiences offer therapeutic benefits while fostering emotional awareness and a deeper connection with nature. We also provide demonstrations in natural horsemanship, highlighting the unique and powerful bond between humans and horses.
Games & Sports Activities - Our spacious undercover arena provides a safe space for ball games and physical activities to exercises to boost coordination and fitness. These sessions promote teamwork, and social skills through fun and engaging challenges.
Art & Western-Style Kitchen - Creative workshops allow participants to express themselves through painting, crafting, and preparing treats for the animals. These hands-on sessions enhance motor skills, spark creativity, and encourage group participation and pride in their work.
